Did you know...?

Between the Rule family members & senior staff, they have clocked up over 140 years of plumbing service between them! The company was started in 1968 by Frank Rule & Barry Parker. Barry left a few years later for personal reasons and since then, the company has been ran by the Rule family. Frank & Cynthia Rule are still directors in the company and take an active role in all projects carried out. The company has now grown to over 30 engineers, managers & office staff. Highly trained & motivated to assist all of our customers. It should be noted we are still assisting customers with their plumbing and heating needs that we first worked for over forty years ago!

Gary Rule

Gary Rule has a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering. After leaving University he joined R&P ‘full time’ (you cannot escape a family business, even at college!) in 1992 and started dealing with IT & administration. In 1995, he took over the Service & Maintenance Department and implemented a fully integrated IT system which provides a fully history of every job we have carried out since! He also heads the Solar Photovoltaic department. Gary became a partner & subsequently a director in the business in 1998. Gary is always stressing the importance of quality and in 2003, he took R&P through to CORGI Certification. R&P was only the fourth UK gas company to achieve the award. Gary takes a very keen interest in all matters Health & Safety throughout the company to ensure R&P maintain the high standards.

Darren Rule

Darren Rule is the Installation Department Director. He runs the daily business of this very busy department. In an average year, his team will handle 800 gas, oil, solid fuel or renewable (air source heat pumps or solar thermal) installation jobs. Darren joined the family business, starting as an apprentice in 1984, passing his City & Guilds NVQ Level II in Plumbing, NVQ Level III in Energy Efficiency for Domestic Heating, NVQ for the installation of unvented hot water systems. Darren is a qualified Gas Safe Register engineer and qualified in solar hot water heating & air source heat pumps. Darren believes quality is the key to Rule & Parker's success over the years. He regularly inspects & oversees engineers work to check they are maintaining the highest standards, including Health & Safety.
